Hola, bonjour, Konnichiwa, and hello, everyone! I’m Luke and this news update is shamelessly personal. No third-person corporate speak or any of that rubbish.
I’m thrilled to officially announce Acre Shore, our psychological horror adventure that blends visual novel storytelling with interactive investigations and impactful player-driven choices.

Funny story! Acre Shore was actually one of the first big ideas we had, even before Mytholite officially existed. It ended up on our shelf of “fun things we’ll do later,” especially with Going Down taking more time than we first thought. But that just changed.
Over the past three years, Acre Shore and Going Down have benefited from shared technology and progress. Because of this overlap, Acre Shore hasn’t been completely left behind. Recently, Acre Shore’s custom engine and our proprietary Narrative Markup Language (NML), the hybrid programming language powering the game, has evolved significantly. It’s become powerful yet accessible, designed specifically for writers.

Being a one-engineer studio (that’s me!), taking on two major projects at once might seem… questionable. But here’s the thing- we place massive importance on storytelling, and for that reason, we have someone entirely dedicated to narrative. That someone is Sam, our Head of Stories. He keeps our lore straight, guides writer’s rooms, and shapes our storytelling from beginning to end.
Sam isn’t a programmer, but his insights were crucial in developing NML. Basically, if Sam could comfortably use NML as a writer, I knew we had it right.
So, here’s what this means for you:
• The Acre Shore engine is complete. We’re now entering the polish and refinement stage.
• Art and narrative scripting (in NML) are our main remaining tasks.
• Sam is focused on Acre Shore’s narrative, while I continue giving Going Down the technical attention it deserves.
This means two exciting games can move forward simultaneously! You get twice the adventure, with less waiting. Sounds like a win-win to me!
Anyway, I better get back to slamming my fingers mercilessly against the keyboard to make some awesome stuff you’ll hopefully love.
Cheerio!
