Multiplayer Developer Needed
We’re looking for a multiplayer/networking developer to join Mytholite Games on an exciting competitive physics-based project. You’ll be helping us bring fast-paced, stylish, chaotic-but-polished online gameplay to life. The game is already prototyped and fun — now we need solid networking behind it so players can experience the madness together.
Engine
We’re open to the project being built in Unity, Godot, Unreal, or GameMaker — whichever best aligns with your multiplayer workflow and experience.
Compensation
This is an indie partnership opportunity rather than a standard salaried role — but it is designed to grow into one.
Here’s what we can offer:
🔸 Equity / Ownership
You will receive a share of Mytholite Ltd specifically tied to this project.
This ensures you’re not “just a contractor” — you’ll be a genuine co-owner of the game.
🔸 Revenue Share (Royalties)
You’ll receive ongoing royalties from game sales and related income once the game launches.
This continues for the lifetime of the project.
🔸 Long-Term Position
As Mytholite grows, this role will transition into a paid, ongoing developer position within the company.
🔸 Creative Influence
You’ll have meaningful input on gameplay systems, networking approaches, and long-term direction, rather than being handed rigid tasks.
Responsibilities
• Building and maintaining networking and multiplayer systems
• Working with client prediction, reconciliation, and rollback (or your preferred architecture)
• Collaborating on gameplay feel and match flow
• Helping optimise performance and consistency for online play
• Implementing matchmaking, lobbies, and session handling
• Advising on best practices for multiplayer architecture
What We're Looking For
• Comfortable building multiplayer systems in your chosen engine
• Familiar with physics-based gameplay
• Able to work in small, friendly indie team environments
• Interested in long-term involvement rather than one-off contract work
• Passionate about creativity, problem-solving, and building something unique
